Austen Maritime Services Proud to Support Stena Futura’s Maiden Call in Singapore

Austen Maritime Services was proud to play a key role in supporting the port call of Stena Futura, Stena Line’s newest state-of-the-art ferry, during her maiden voyage from China to Europe.

As Stena Futura made her inaugural stop in Singapore for bunkering and provisioning in late July, Austen Maritime coordinated local logistics and port services to ensure a smooth and efficient turnaround. The vessel, on route to her new home in Belfast, represents a major advancement in sustainable shipping, with dual-fuel capabilities allowing operation on both diesel and methanol.

Christopher Cher, Global Head of Austen Maritime, joined Stena Line’s Singapore representative Tony Tan in welcoming the vessel at anchorage. “We were delighted to support Stena Futura on her maiden voyage and to have the opportunity to visit such an impressive ship,” said Cher. “It’s always a privilege to work alongside our sister company Stena Line, especially on projects that showcase innovation and sustainability in maritime transport.”

During the visit, the Austen team toured key areas of the vessel including the vehicle deck, accommodation facilities, and bridge, and met with Senior Master Colin Fleming and crew members to gain insight into the ship’s capabilities.

Austen Maritime Services remains committed to delivering expert port agency and marine logistics support across Asia and is proud to contribute to the success of Stena Line’s global operations.
